Terms

Terms of Service

The rules for using the map, filing reports, and signing in.

Effective 8 September 2026

The service

Potholes.app lets people view and report road hazards in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. It is an independent civic information tool. It is not an emergency service, a government filing portal, PMC Road Mitra, PMC CARE, or a promise that a street will be repaired. Official complaints belong on the civic body’s own portal.

Accounts

You can browse as a guest. Reporting and other write actions require an account. Google sign-in and email magic links are offered so we can recognise you. You must be able to use the Google account or email you present. Keep your devices under your control.

Your reports

You grant Potholes.app a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and adapt the photos and text you submit so they can appear on the map and in related civic views. You still own your photos. Do not upload content you do not have the right to share. Follow the Community Guidelines.

Accuracy

Reports are user-generated. Neighbourhood names, contractor fields, and officer contacts on the map are shown only when we have them in our database. We do not invent public-official data. Status can lag behind the street.

Public representatives

MLA names are copied from the Maharashtra Legislature Assembly membership notified in November 2024. PMC and PCMC mayors and corporators follow the January 2026 civic elections. Matching a pin to a constituency uses official ward/village polygons where we have them; boundary roads can still be ambiguous, and you should check the name before you send a message. WhatsApp is a citizen-composed message. When we have a public office number, the chat is addressed to that number; otherwise you pick the recipient. Using already-public office-holder names and published grievance lines in a civic app is permitted; do not use the tool to harass a private person.

Location

Location is only for this app: centering the map, dropping a pin, and attaching coordinates to a report you submit. It is not used for advertising, resale, movement histories, or any product outside Potholes.app. See the Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

Availability

We provide the service as-is. Map tiles, sign-in, and uploads can fail. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.

Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by Indian law, Potholes.app is not liable for decisions you make from the map, for unrepaired streets, or for indirect damages. If a court finds a limitation unenforceable, the rest still applies.
